In Good Time
One Thought
Sometimes we hear the same idea again and again.
From coaches, friends, mentors or even from ourselves and it doesn’t stick or we don’t truly hear it.
Not really.
Not until the moment we’re ready for it.
This has happened in my life so many times now, I’m sure when you think about it, you will recognise it too.
Something makes sense only when the conditions inside us are right and when perspective, experience and timing align.
I’ve always said I’m a slow learner, perhaps in some cases I am! But it doesn’t really mean we’ve been slow, wrong, or foolish.
It means we were growing.
What didn’t land before is landing now because you needed this moment to understand it. We needed to evolve to this point.
Life has a rhythm, we’re not always in control of it and it’s not always the rhythm we expect.
But when we’re ready and the opportunity arrives, things fall into place in a way that feels natural and correct.
So here’s a simple reassurance as we come towards the end of the year:
You're on the right track, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet.
Everything unfolds in its own good time.
Keep going.
One Stroke
In rowing, we all know, every stroke uses the whole body: legs, core, back and arms, seamlessly working together.
It’s a sequence of dependable, patient moments that should happen at the right time.
As you refine your technique, efficiency becomes your advantage. The better your movement, the greater the benefit and the less you have to force anything.
With improved skill, you can enjoy rowing more and simultaneously, your muscular strength and cardiovascular fitness grow.
It’s a real win–win.
Here’s the beautiful balance of rowing:
The more you understand the movement, the less you need to do…and the more you want to do!
Rowing teaches us patience with our bodies and our progress. We don’t get anything instantly, but stroke by stroke, workout by workout we gradually get it, efficiency grows.
Through consistency and thoughtful movement, benefits accumulate over time.
I’m going to say it again,
keep going.
